Searching for Celiac

My brother ( maybe he has celiac disease ) told me the web was buzzing about a problem with onecause.org.  The problem, a redirect and then it’d let you pick up some malware.  Why were people even surfing that sight? Look at the thread, it’s just me, unaware of the trouble. The malware redirect was reported and cleaned up long ago (support ticket 7054840 — malicious codes found in web site ), but I didn’t notify the authorities ( google ), and the same crap is out there when you search for onecause via google today.

So I wonder how this stuff happens . . .

Here’s a made up version of what happened ( I have many versions but this one is getting typed right now ).

I had to put the site on hold. I wasn’t doing much on the front end, so I posted a picture in July of 2007 and tried to take care of myself as best I could.

My El Camino had just been stolen. There was that. But I was also having some other issues.

The El Camino. What a ride.

I didn’t know I was a celiac, not that I’m blaming that fact, but looking back I wonder how I couldn’t have known.  The doctors I’d been seeing didn’t know — I was having appointments with a dermatologist and a general practitioner a few times a year.  I was taking antibiotics for the skin and scalp issues. I was taking a popular drug for migraines. I was taking OTC drugs for diarrhea. Embarrassing to say, but I’m over it, mostly, now. I was having a lot of issues and they were bleeding into my personal life . . . my work life . . . my life in general.

So onecause.org was stuck.

Then came the problems created by  A Best Web Ambassador, Bob Lawrence, ( http://www.abestweb.com/forums/showthread.php?114333-Someone-s-got-the-right-idea-(sarcastic)-plus-virus )  and the founder, Haiko de Poel, Jr., of this site,  abestweb.com, so the problem was only occurring for users of Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, or so the thread says.

And their forum thread(s) just hangs out there advising everyone there’s a virus.

ABW’s date is in the way back machine. And there’s not a virus or any redirect, if you’re using MSIE, to pick up malware.

One of the more surprising things to me, during the time this site got infected with malware, was a business with the domain name onecause.com. They, onecause.com was asking to buy this site.

I didn’t want to sell.

The would-be buyer had onecause.com set up as a way to donate money for any cause, but mostly schools, I think, but I don’t remember. onecause dot net was also doing the same thing, and I suppose they wanted onecause.org to do their bidding as well. They stopped bugging me about it almost 5 years ago.

They had given me so much misinformation in email and on the phone they seemed “sketchy.”

Looking at https://www.robtex.net/en/advisory/dns/com/onecause/ showed that onecause.com and abestweb.com are or were related sites.

abestweb still shows up on the web, but onecause.com isn’t loading on any of the three major browsers I used to access the site.

These days I’m back to work on this site, the one cause is, finally, celiac disease. It’s really more than that, and these things, the more than that, will come along.

First, just finding out I was a celiac opened something up for me.  Many, many, new things have come, and are still coming, along with the celiac discovery.

It took a long time for me to discover much of anything.

I was sick.

And now I want to help anyone find out the differences between sensitivities, tolerances, allergies, and autoimmune disease and I’m hidden in here. I haven’t talked to the owners of the internet about how things are discovered or even how things have changed, but I want to.

I’m going to keep trying for a while.

Searching for celiac.
